08002 - Calorie Count
Loosing weight “supposedly” is a simple matter. Calories in, calories out. If I burn more than what I take in, I should be able to lose weight. I tried that, but for whatever reason, it didn’t seem to work very well for me. Considering that I was only guessing the calories on whatever I ate, it occurred to me that maybe, I’m not precise enough with the counting.
I’m not saying that burning more calories than the intake is not a valid theory. But there is more to it than guessing and trying to get away with it.
“What more?” You would ask… Well, I have no clue at the moment. I’m still learning this stuff. But there is good news. As I said earlier, I’m researching every angle, so I thought it is time to look into software that is convenient, and reachable at all times.
After some digging, I have found a place where you can keep tabs on what you eat, what is your daily calorie need and how much calories are in the food the you consume every day.
Here is the site: http://caloriecount.about.com. You can search the foods, it will tell you about the ingredients, nutrients, and the foods are rated on what is good for you and what is not so much. You can also actually add new food items or even recipes.
If and when you create your account, (which, by the way, is free!) it will ask you some simple questions. Then you are in business. It will calculate your daily base calories that you burn, without even exercising. Then you enter the food that you have eaten for the day. You also enter the exercise that you have done for the same day. It will then calculate for you the calories you have burned and the calories you have eaten, and it will show you where you stand. Very handy.
I will put the link into my favorites list, so you can get there easily. Look on the left hand side.
Ok, back to the search. Let’s see what else can I come up with.
