08003 - Adventures of a Rollerblader
Sitting on my but and reading about how to lose weight, doesn't seem to effect my weight that much.
Duh... What did I expect?
Yeah, it would have been nice to say, that I have lost 6 lbs. doing nothing. But I didn't.
Well, nothing is lost (pun intended), as I had my first rollerblading lesson.
So, what is rollerblading? Per my short experience, it is state of constant fear and agonizing terror about the possibility of falling and its consequences. Just think about it. A 300 lbs body hitting the ground with full force picks up a lot of dust.
On the other hand it is all mental as I did not fell once. Sure, I have provided entertainment for the whole park for an hour. But it was not the falling part that entertained.
It seems that some thought, I'm crazy. Others were looking at me with petty in their eyes; Almost like they understood what I was going through. Some smiled, some looked at me with amusement. Some provided a natural, but still very real barrier, by stupidly staying in my way and stepping into the same direction I was trying to avoid them. I sweat so much that some thought that I have come to the park to shower.
All in all it was a fun experience. I think I will try again.
